Acupressure Certification for Nurses: Your Next Step Starts Now

Most nurses already know the quiet power of touch. A hand held steady during a panic attack, a firm grip through a contraction, a few seconds of pressure that takes the edge off nausea before a medication can even be charted — these are things many of us do instinctively, without ever having a name for the technique or a credential behind it. This week, NFNH is opening the door for nurses who want to turn that instinct into a documented, evidence-informed skill: the Acupressure Certificate for Nurses begins its first paired session on September 19.

From one workshop to a full certificate

If you joined our Clinical Acupressure: 5 Points You Can Use at the Bedside session earlier this month, you already have a feel for what acupressure can offer in a clinical setting. The Acupressure Certificate for Nurses is built for exactly the nurses who left that session wanting more. Over six AHNA-approved contact hours, spread across three paired Saturday sessions (September 19 & October 3, October 24 & November 7, and November 21 & December 5), you'll move beyond five isolated points into a fuller, more confident foundation — the kind of skill you can bring into your unit consistently, not just remember on your best days.

It's worth being clear about what this is not. The $25 Clinical Acupressure workshop and the Acupressure Certificate are two different offers, even though they cover overlapping ground — the workshop is a single, no-cost-of-entry introduction, while the certificate is the credentialed, multi-session program for nurses ready to commit. If you're not sure which one is right for you, our Free Clinical Acupressure Guide is a no-cost way to sample the same five bedside points before deciding whether to go further.

Nutrition and movement are having a moment too

Acupressure isn't the only thread we're pulling on this week. Our Functional Nutrition Certification opens a brand-new rolling cohort on September 26 — 35 AHNA-approved CE hours across four live sessions, built specifically for how nurses actually use nutrition in practice rather than as a generic wellness add-on. If you've been waiting for the right moment to add nutrition credentialing to your toolkit, this new cohort is it; our August cohort is underway and no longer taking new enrollees, so September 26 is the fresh entry point.

We're also continuing to build out Yoga Foundations for Nurses, an eight-contact-hour program designed as a genuine starting point — no prior yoga experience required, just a nurse-specific introduction to the philosophy and safe practice basics that you can build on over time. Details on scheduling are still coming together, and we'll share them here as soon as they're confirmed.

Taken together, what we hope you notice is a pattern: NFNH isn't just teaching individual techniques in isolation. Acupressure, nutrition, movement — each is a piece of a larger picture of what integrative nursing practice can look like when a nurse has room to build real depth in more than one modality.

Looking ahead: the Integrative Nursing Certificate

That "larger picture" idea is exactly what's driving the program we're most excited about for 2027. Looking further ahead, NFNH is preparing to launch its most comprehensive offering yet: the Integrative Nursing Certificate, arriving January 2027. Where our workshops and single-topic certifications let you go deep on one modality at a time, this new 60-contact-hour, self-paced program is designed to bring those threads together into one coherent foundation in integrative nursing practice — for nurses who are ready to make holistic, whole-person care a defined, credentialed part of who they are professionally, not just something picked up a workshop at a time. It's early days, and more details will follow as the January launch gets closer. If you'd like to be first in line, you can email us at contact@nursesfornaturalhealth.org to join the waitlist and we'll notify you the moment enrollment opens.

Wherever you're starting from

Whether you're brand new to holistic techniques or you've already got a few workshops under your belt, there's a reasonable next step waiting for you this week — a free guide, a certificate that begins Saturday, or a cohort opening at the end of the month. You don't have to do all of it at once. Pick the one that meets you where you are, and we'll be here for the next one when you're ready.
